I give thanks to Elohim.

Gratefulness: feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful:

Thankful: pleased and relieved:

These two words are exactly what I feel today.

Elohim is the creator. He created the entire world and everything in it. He created me and you. He created our families, our world, our future.

Now here is the secret. We haven’t done one thing to make our lives what they are. We had no part in creation. The part that God graciously allowed us to play is the living part.

I was able to wake up on this glorious Thursday morning and come over to this computer, turn on some worship music and dwell in the presence of the creator.

God continues to point out to me that He is the one that does all the work and there is nothing that I can do to add to what He has created. In His perfection, it is finished.

He shows me that He is the one that created everything including His vision for my life, my work, my future. The truth is that God created every single day. How could I possibly think that I could add anything to what He considered very good? There’s nothing that God cannot and will not do for His children.

Repeatedly throughout the Bible God says don’t worry about anything because I’ve got you.

I’m not sure about you – but God speaks to Megan very casually just like the perfect and loving Father that He is.

He says – just like I take care of the birds and the flowers, just like I tell the sun when to rise, I am the one who is guiding your steps – trust me and watch your life unfold. I made this one especially for you – and I promise you’ll love it!

God is the one that wakes me up every morning. How could I possibly think if there’s anything that I can do outside of His influence?

God called us to love Him. He said if we will do anything in our own strength let it be to love Him. That’s the only thing that I have control over.

God is still the same always. Every day when I wake up- God is the same God. He is doing the same thing. He’s always in the same mood. He’s always available.

It is me that changes. I wake up and think about how I feel and allow that to dictate what I do. I wake up and think I am thirsty and get a drink. Or I’m sore so I take a shower. I am the one that changes.

But God never changes He is always the same He is always available, and He is always waiting. I am the one who has a will to decide whether I’m going to surrender myself to the creator and spend time in His presence or move on with life.

The reason I bring this up today is because I am so grateful for

everything that God is,

everything that He has done in my life,

and

everything that He continues to do.

I appreciate His kindness to me even though I almost never deserve it.

He always gives me kindness. I am so thankful for everything that He has done. The creator, Elohim, created my entire existence. I’m so relieved that He has taken on the work so that I can rest in his abundance and His wonderfulness.

God gives us breath to use every day. I will use this breath to praise His name. I will use this breath to worship the Holy creator as He continues to reveal the amazing future that He has planned for me.

I just showed up to the party.

This reminds me of the difference between planning a dinner party and attending one. When you are the one planning it- you don’t enjoy it. You basically work yourself to the bone and by the time everyone shows up- you are too tired to enjoy it. But- when you attend a dinner party- you dress up, show up, and enjoy the party. This is how God wants us to live the life He created. He’s already done it all. We just show up and enjoy the party.

When we discipline our will to a life with this perspective- we can genuinely enjoy the us that He created. We will always align perfectly with His will and His plan. We get off target when we have our own party – doing all the work and what’s worse is we don’t even invite Him.

No way man- that life is for the birds. Ha! Birds don’t even do that! Satan is the one who did that. Instead of just being the being that God created- he went and messed it up trying to do the work of God. And now here we are following suit.

Today- I reflect on how amazing God the creator is. I reflect on His goodness. I am so relieved that He took the work. I am so pleased with what He has for me. I am so thankful that this magnificent being has a future and a hope for Megan. Praise God! He did it all, so I don’t have to!

Today I invite you to the table of the Lord- He has set this feast before you and all you have to do is show up.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you – I pray that today your table is blessed and your heart is full.
